PathScale Product Suite to be Offered with HP Servers

-- World's Fastest 64-bit Compilers for Linux Clusters to be Available
for High-Performance Computing Customers Directly from HP and its Global
Reseller Network --

Sunnyvale, Calif. — October 12, 2004
PathScale, developer of innovative software and hardware solutions to
accelerate the performance and efficiency of Linux clusters, today announced
that its product suite will be available to users and resellers of
industry-standard HP ProLiant servers based on both AMD® Opteron™ and
Intel® Xeon-based™ processors.

"HP's decision to resell the PathScale EKO Compiler Suite to its HP
ProLiant customers is a strong endorsement of the leadership position that
PathScale compilers have achieved," said Scott Metcalf, CEO of PathScale.
"There is strong demand from around the globe for the PathScale EKO Compiler
Suite, particularly as a result of real-world application benchmark results
that demonstrate PathScale's clear performance advantages for 64-bit Linux
systems."

The two companies also will collaborate on joint sales and marketing
initiatives. As part of this, PathScale compilers will be demonstrated this
week in the HP booth at the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) 74th
Annual meeting in Denver, and also at the SC2004 SuperComputing Conference in
Pittsburgh in November.

"A growing number of our customers have been using PathScale compilers
to optimize applications on our HP ProLiant servers, and PathScale has been
providing compilers for our application benchmarking activities, helping us
generate better performance for our customers," said Winston Prather,
vice president, HP High Performance Technical Computing. "HP has always
been committed to meeting the needs of High Performance Computing (HPC) users,
and by offering PathScale EKO compilers we provide a complete,
high-performance 64-bit Linux development environment."

The PathScale EKO Compiler Suite is immediately orderable from HP and its
ProLiant resellers worldwide. A 30-day free trial version of the PathScale EKO
Compiler Suite is available at www.pathscale.com/trial.php.
